Blast Metric Correlations
Updated: Sep 15, 2020
Here’s an example of a correlation analysis I ran of all of Blast motions sensors metrics using Brady Volmering's readings. It's a small sample of only 70 swings but still cool to look at.

One thing that stood out to me is that there is a fairly high correlation between vertical bat angle and attack angle. It makes sense for a couple of reasons.
1. Less for the outside force acting on a vertical bat allows it to more easily work against gravity. 2. A more horizontal swing requires much “working up through the ball” Goes nicely with what some people were noticing on higher pitches having more lower swing finishes.
